Find Location
The Find Location page allows you to search for locations (properties, floors, spaces, and subSpaces) based on a complex set of criteria you define.
You must have the appropriate security rights to find a location. Some of these location types may not be enabled due to your system configuration or the permissions granted to your account.
To find a location:

Access the Space module by clicking the Space link at the top of the page.

Select the Find tab.
The Find Location page opens. From this page you can select the type of location you want to find.
- Property – a single physical location such as a building
- Floor – a floor within a property
- Space – a subdivision of a floor within a property
- Sub-Space – a subdivision of a defined space
Find a Property
A property is a single physical location that is managed by the system. For example, if you manage a series of retail spaces, each store would be set up as a property. For an academic institution, a separate property could be created for each building on campus.
To find a property:

In the Location Type to Search For field, select Property.
The Find Property page opens allowing you to define your property search criteria. For more information, see Find Property.
Find a Floor
A floor is a single, enclosed horizontal division of a building, for example, the ground floor of the sixteenth floor.
To find a floor:

In the Location Type to Search For field, select Floor.

In the Filter By pane, click the Select link associated with either a Region or a Property.
You can specify a region or a property, but not both.

In the Advanced Search Criteria pane, specify any of the following values.
- Floor Category – Select a value to search for floors that belong to a particular category. The floor category defines the primary classification of the floor, for example, Manufacturing or Office.
- Floor Sub-Category – Select a value to search for floors that belong to a particular subCategory. The floor subCategory defines the secondary classification of the floor, for example, for a Manufacturing floor, the subCategory might be Biomedical or Technology.
- Floor Contact Individual – Click the Select link to search for floors that have a particular user as the main person. Contact individuals are chosen from a list of full users.
- Floor Contact Group – Click the select the Select link to search for floors that are associated with a particular department.
- Floor Description – Enter a value to search for floors that have the specified text in their descriptions. This search is not case-sensitive and is done on the entire word or phrase entered.

Once your search criteria are defined, click FIND to display the results.
The total number of results appears above the results list. The following information for each floor located is displayed:
- Property – the name of the property the floor is on; click this link to open the Property Details page
- Floor – the name of the floor; click this link to open the View Floor page.
Find a Space
A space is any subdivision of area within a floor, for example, the lobby, the training suite, or the manufacturing wing. When searching for spaces, the system returns all spaces that you have either property-based or department-based security rights to access.
To find a space :

In the Location Type to Search For field, select Space.

In the Filter By pane, specify any of the following values.
- Region – Click the Select to search for spaces located in a particular region. You can specify a region or a property, but not both.
- Property – Click the Select link to search for spaces within a particular property. You can specify a region or a property, but not both
- Floor – If you selected a property, this field appears allowing you to select the floor the space is on.
- Active – Select a value to search for Active or Inactive spaces.
- Owning Group – Select a value to search for spaces that are owned by a specified department.

In the Advanced Search Criteria pane, specify any of the following values.
- Space Description – Enter a value to search for spaces that have the specified text in their descriptions. This search is not case-sensitive and is done on the entire word or phrase entered.
- Occupancy Status – Select a value to search for spaces that have a particular occupancy status, for example, Occupied, Partially Occupied, or Vacant.
- Capacity – Select an operator (Up To, Equal To, or More Than) and then enter a numeric value to search for spaces that can hold the specified number of occupants. For example, you could search for spaces whose capacity is "Up to 30" persons.
- Area – To search for spaces with areas greater than the number specified, enter the whole number (non-negative) in the 'From' field. To find a space less than number specified, enter that number in the 'To' field. To find a space with an area within a range, provide both values. For example, you could search for spaces that have from 1000 to 2000 square feet of area.
- Total Occupants – Select an operator (less than, less than or equal to, equal to, or more than, more than or equal to) and then enter a numeric value to search for spaces that currently have the specified total number of occupants. This value includes both assigned and unnamed occupants. For example, you could search for spaces that have "More than 100" occupants.
- Occupant – Click the Select link to search for spaces that have a particular user as one of the assigned occupying individuals. Occupants are chosen from a list of full users.
- Allocated Individual – Click the Select link to search for spaces that have a particular user as one of the allocated individuals. Allocated individuals are chosen from a list of full users.
- Allocated Group – Click the select the Select link to search for spaces that are allocated to a particular department.
- Space Category – Select a value to search for spaces that belong to a particular category. The space category defines the primary classification of the space, for example, Laboratory or Office.
- Space Sub-Category – Select a value to search for spaces that belong to a particular subCategory. The space subCategory defines the secondary classification of the space, for example, for a Laboratory space, the subCategory might be Non-Classroom/Research. You must select a space category before you can select a space subCategory.
- Space Type – Select a value to search for spaces that belong to a particular type. The space type defines the tertiary classification of the space, for example, for a Laboratory/Non-Classroom/Research space, the type might be Chemistry. You must select a space category and a space subCategory before you can select a space type.
- Vacancy – Select an operator (Up To, Equal To, or More Than) and then enter a numeric value to search for spaces that can currently have the specified total number of vacancies. This value indicates the space's capacity minus its occupants. For example, you could search for spaces that have "More than 15" vacancies.
- Functional Category – Select a value to search for spaces that belong to a particular functional category. The functional category defines the primary usage of the space, for example, Clinical Trials/Drug Studies.
- Functional Sub-Category – Select a value to search for spaces that belong to a particular functional subCategory. The functional subCategory further defines the usage of the space, for example, for a Clinical Trials/Drug Studies category, the functional subCategory might be Oncology. You must select a functional category before you can select a functional subCategory.
- Billing Group – Click the select the Select link to search for spaces where costs are billed to a particular department.

Once your search criteria are defined, click FIND to display the results.
The total number of results appears above the results list. The following information for each floor located is displayed:

Property – the name of the property the space is in; click this link to open the Property Details page

Find a Sub-Space
A subSpace is any smaller allocated area within a space that needs to be managed separately. For example, if the training suite is a space, each individual training room might be a subSpace.
To find a subSpace :

In the Location Type to Search For field, select Sub-Space.

In the Filter By pane, specify any of the following values.
- Region – Click the Select to search for spaces located in a particular region. You can specify a region or a property, but not both.
- Property – Click the Select link to search for spaces within a particular property. You can specify a region or a property, but not both
- Floor – If you selected a property, this field appears allowing you to select the floor the space is on.
- Space – If you selected a floor, this fieldappears allowing you to select the space containing the subSpace.

- Occupant – Click the Select link to search for subSpaces that have a particular user as the assigned occupying individual. The occupant is chosen from a list of full users.
- Allocated Group – Click the select the Select link to search for subSpaces that are allocated to a particular department.
- Space Category – Select a value to search for subSpaces that belong to a particular category. The subSpace category defines the primary classification of the subSpace, for example, Laboratory or Office.
- Space Sub-Category – Select a value to search for subSpaces that belong to a particular subCategory. The space subCategory defines the secondary classification of the subSpace, for example, for a Laboratory subSpace, the subCategory might be Non-Classroom/Research. You must select a space category before you can select a space subCategory.
- Space Type – Select a value to search for subSpaces that belong to a particular type. The space type defines the tertiary classification of the subSpace, for example, for a Laboratory/Non-Classroom/Research subSpace, the type might be Chemistry. You must select a space category and a space subCategory before you can select a space type
- Allocated Individual – Click the Select link to search for subSpaces that have a particular user as the allocated individual. The allocated individual is chosen from a list of full users.
- Area Enter two numeric values and a unit of measure to search for subSpaces whose total area is within the specified range. For example, you could search for subSpaces that have from 1000 to 2000 square feet of area.
- Billing Group – Click the select the Select link to search for subSpaces where costs are billed to a particular department.
- Functional Category – Select a value to search for subSpaces that belong to a particular functional category. The functional category defines the primary usage of the subSpace, for example, Clinical Trials/Drug Studies.
- Functional Sub-Category – Select a value to search for subSpaces that belong to a particular functional subCategory. The functional subCategory further defines the usage of the subSpace, for example, for a Clinical Trials/Drug Studies category, the functional subCategory might be Oncology. Once your search criteria are defined, click FIND to display the results.
